Frequently Asked Questions

HubSpot costs are minimal for several reasons. Acquisition costs are limited to software cost and minimal implementation costs thanks to our robust HubSpot Marketplace and the simplicity of migrating data into HubSpot. Costs to operate HubSpot are rare because we provide maintenance, training, and support at no additional charge. Most customers do not need to employ a dedicated HubSpot admin because our software is so intuitive and easy to use. In fact, more software end-users rate HubSpot as very easy to use compared to competitors. Typically whoever is already responsible for your marketing or sales activities will be able to leverage HubSpot.

The cost of owning a software product goes far beyond the sticker tag, but oftentimes companies are less than transparent about the hidden costs associated with their products. TCO is important because it can reveal that software actually costs a business 5-8x the original purchase price.

We used the pricing information publicly available on HubSpot's website as of June 2023 for cost items with published prices, such as software upfront/subscription cost and implementation/onboarding cost.

HubSpot conducted an online survey to estimate the remaining cost items. The survey was sent by HubSpot to customers who owned either Marketing Hub (n=131), Sales Hub (n=172), both Marketing Hub and Sales Hub (n=110), or Service Hub (n=68). As an incentive for taking part in the survey, respondents were given a $35 gift card.

It is important to note that individual businesses, including yours, may experience different outcomes based on various factors, such as markets, customer base, industry, geography, stage of development, and other relevant considerations.

The default, low, mid, and high costs are determined based on a HubSpot-hosted survey involving hundreds of existing customers. The low cost represents the 25th percentile, the mid/median cost represents the 50th percentile, and the high cost represents the 90th percentile of the survey data. These cost levels align with different customer preferences and help provide a range of pricing options. Learn more about that survey in the Marketing Hub TCO Research Report and Sales Hub TCO Research Report.

This depends on what kind of pricing you are hoping to compare to HubSpot. If you are comparing against your current costs, you'll want to speak with your current provider or your accounting department on your costs. If you're comparing against another service you're considering, you may need to reach out to their sales team for a full cost breakdown if you're unable to find it on their website.

Many companies hide their full TCO behind a call with their sales reps. To help you with that conversation, we created a conversation guide you can use to get the answers you need to figure out the true TCO of a vendor.
